What is your career plan?
In less than three weeks I’ll be the not-as-young age of 26. My twenties have been an interesting ride so far. When I was 20, I was in university and in a serious relationship with someone I thought was “the one”. Now I’m working in a healthcare center in a small town over 2 hours away from my alma mater. My bachelor’s degree is unrelated to my line of work as the COVID pandemic threw a wrench in the original plan.

That being said, I’ve changed my mind on a lot of things since then. For starters, I realized that I wanted to start a family. With that in mind, I’ve put more emphasis on my physical and mental health. I am pursuing careers with good benefits and pay but lower stress and body taxation.
One of the avenues I’ve decided to approach on this adventure is tattoo design!

I’ve always considered the idea of making money off my artwork. Art is a skill I’ve developed my whole life. I’ve dappled into a lot of creative projects. Right now tattoo design is one of those projects, since it correlates with my drawing skills.
Tattoos also carry a lot of meaning. Even tattoos one regrets say a lot about someone’s life. I think it would be cool to be part of people’s lives in that way.
I am still working on my tattoo portfolio. I’m also working with fake skin and oranges to practice my hand with the gun. Eventually I’ll tattoo a person.
But for now, I’m going to work my day job in customer service (another somewhat unexpected passion I found in my adulthood).
