Good Sunday Morning Everybody! It is the first one of the new year. I never thought I would be on this path, but I have been having a lot of communication with the divine lately. I have wisdom I’d like to share. I have been focusing on reconstructing my faith in Jesus Christ over the last three years. I have attended several Catholic and Protestant Sermons (predominantly Methodist but I have also been to a few Baptist sermons). I am someone who prays through various eclectic so-called “magical” practices including divination tools (tarot and oracle decks), kitchen and cleaning spells, and chanting. I believe that the world could use a little more Jesus Wisdom this year, and I have found that through my own form of prayer constructed through various Catholic, Protestant, and so called “Folk Magic” means.
I did a prayer with Jesus Christ using a red sacred heart candle and tarot cards. I asked a lot of questions that I won’t get all into because of things in my personal life, I’ll only give an overall summary of the cards that I pulled:
-The Star (showed up twice)
-The Five of Pentacles (showed up twice)
-The Fool

The Fool
The Fool is the first card in the tarot arcana. He represents the beginning of a journey, where one knows nothing. He’s optimistic and naive. This is a card associated with Jesus as the New Testament talks about his journey from the son to the holy ghost. It’s also associated with the human experience where we all start off knowing nothing and going on a life journey of growth.
The Five Pentacles
The five of pentacles is a card associated with emotional and/or financial hardship. Life can be messy, especially in today’s world of chaos. The five pentacles symbolize temporary hardship. I can actually see why I got this card: I’m currently fighting a cold as a side effect of my healthcare job at one of the busiest times of year for a pharmacy. Life happens: Some people fall off their bike, some people get sick, and some people struggle to love themselves on some days. But Jesus has an important lesson to take away from this: All of these life things are temporary. And that leads to my final card:
The Star
The Star. The star is all about hope, faith, purpose, renewal, and spiritual growth. This is the card associated with Jesus on the cross. He died to forgive us of our sins. He is an ever patient, ever loving spirit who will always wait for you to come back no matter how far you stray from him. He believes in you for as long as you believe in him. He’s our wishing star to call upon. He is our hope. He’s something to believe in when you can’t believe in yourself, but he’ll work with you to get yourself there.
Now that the tarot part of the message is out there, I’d like to give a few lessons I learned through this prayer session. I have a few verses I would like to share with you all that I found through my intuition and some of the other more specific answers I got through a mix of pulling cards and googling a bible verse associated with my question:
God wants us to use his heavenly gifts. (Revelations 21:18-23 , Genesis 1:29-30)
It is not a sin to use crystals or plants in prayers with Jesus. In fact, it’s actually encouraged! I burn Frankincense in my house every Sunday in honor of the Baby Jesus, who reminds me that every day is a new opportunity. I have been working with him and Saint Michael on aligning my sacral chakra (I’ll get to that part in a moment). And in the book of revelations verse, it discusses the twelve stones that are associated with the twelve heavenly gates. Objectively speaking, crystals and rocks are shards of heaven on earth that God has given us to work with to get closer to him.
Jesus taught us to love thy enemy as much or even more so than thy neighbor (Luke 6:27-36)
My now fiance and I have been together for almost three years. If there’s one thing that I’ve learned about love through him, it’s that love is all about understanding. We naturally are always afraid of things we don’t know, and that can breed a lot of insecurity and hardship that people like to lash out onto others. I believe part of the lesson Jesus is trying to teach us is to bring understanding into relationships with your enemies. Furthermore, you can interpret “enemy” as simply meaning “different from you” and “neighbor” meaning “familiar to you”. Look at things from their point of view and try to see where they are coming from. This can even be taken a step further and interpreted as Jesus encouraging us to study other philosophies and faiths and come to an understanding of him. As God made every human in his own image, and that it’s okay to take the wisdom you receive from other people if that means it brings you closer to HIM.
Jesus is always there for you. Even if it seems like he’s not. (John 6:16-40).
Through that prayer I also had frankincense incense going (that is a plant associated with the birth of baby Jesus), and through the prayer, the ash landed on my bible. The ash from the incense stained this particular passage. The story is about Jesus making breakfast for his disciples and proceeding to walk on water to catch so many fish that it should realistically break the net, but it doesn’t. I interpret this story to be about having trust and faith in Jesus. That if you believe in him, he will believe in you. He will be there for you even if you can’t give anything in return. He’ll be there for you even if you make a mistake. He’s always ready to take you in, whenever you’re ready. Just as he was there for his disciples performing the miracle. Yes, he’s a miracle worker, a healer, and a divine being… but he does it all for you.
“Where is this leading?” You might be asking.
I have found out through lots of studying various faiths, practices, and philosophies that I am a non-denominational christian. I do have various spirits I call upon (Mother Mary, Saints, Ancestors, among others), but I am now on a new path of learning about the truth in The Message. I want to write this bible study as encouragement for others to share their wisdom and perspectives on what our Lord has to offer us. I encourage hearing other perspectives and giving general respect and kindness. At the end of the day, I just hope that my little corner of the internet and my vision brings you the things you needed to hear today.
