Uncharted Waters: My First Upcoming Published Book!

I’m in a turning point. This has inspired me to really sit down and think about my personal and professional goals. One of the dreams I have had since I was eight years old involved writing and illustrating my own book.

This is my blog post saying that I’m working on that.

I’m going to start with a small project to dip my toes into learning how the publishing and marketing world works. The project is titled “Uncharted Waters: A collection of poems from a debut author”. It’s a hero’s journey about adventuring into the unknown disguised as a series of self-motivating poems.

The project’s title is inspired by this watercolor painting I made earlier this month of a kid running through uncharted waters. I used a dice prompt that gave me random elements to incorporate–forcing me to stretch my creative muscles to make something cohesive. I felt it was a perfect metaphor for the best way to navigate life’s challenges: Get Creative! And yes, there will be paintings to accompany every poem.
